Day One (Again)

I’ve decided that I’m going to begin this project again. I thought about taking a picture of just my face every day (I’m sure you’ve all seen the videos), but I’m not sure I’ll do just that. However, I do want to be in every picture I post for the next 365 days.

Today is the first day of what may be a very short experience, but has the possibility of becoming a life-changing situation. I found two lumps in my left breast a few days ago, and today I went to the doctor to have a Clinical Breast Exam (CBE). He found three lumps and I am going in for an ultrasound in two days. The ultrasound will (hopefully) show us whether the lumps are fluid-filled (cysts) or solid (not cysts). If they aren’t cysts, the next step is a mammogram.

I am hopeful that they are just cysts. He mentioned Fibrocystic Breast Disease, and it could very well just be that. But it could also be that other thing. The “C” word. I hope to have some answers this week.

Day Eleven: My Little Pony

Everyone loves a pony. Ben believes I love them, so I get some sort of pony gift for every holiday!

Day Ten: Rich

Ben has this concept in his head of what “rich” means. He thinks that this orange shirt makes him look rich. We were driving home from the hospital today and passed a guy (a Zoobie, undoubtedly) riding a scooter. Benjamin went on to tell me that the guy was rich because of his pokey hair, his blue shirt, his jeans and his motorcycle. He then pointed out that the guy wasn’t wearing a helmet because he didn’t want to mess up his hair.

I spent the next five minutes arguing with Ben about why that guy was stupid for not wearing a helmet, and not cool. Ben was of the impression that the man was invincible, that his brains would never be smeared on the pavement, and that the guy was just on his way home. Sigh…
